Mandir Marg

During the centuries when India had Muslim rulers, many mosques were built and many Hindu temples disappeared. In recent times, new Hindu temples have been built, among them the magnificent and richly ornamented Lakshmi Narayan, built in 1938. The temple has a splendid garden with a fountain in the back. The Lakshmi Narayan Temple is also known as Birla Mandir in honour of the Hindu industrialist who financed its construction.
